Wasser ist für Mensch, Tier und Pflanzen gleichermaßen überlebenswichtig. Jedoch ist nicht jedes Wasservorkommen sofort sichtbar, zum Beispiel befindet sich das Grundwasser einige Meter unter der Erde. Noch deutlich tiefer unter der Erdoberfläche liegen Quellen, aus denen natürliches Mineralwasser gefördert wird. Es prägt seit seiner Entstehung in flüssiger Form durch die Abkühlung der Erde vor 4 Milliarden Jahren in unterschiedlichen Aggregatzuständen die Entwicklung des Planeten und das Leben darauf.
