According to the “Forecast Fire Danger Map,” on August 25th, a wide swath of Texas was at risk for wildfires! The Forecast Fire Danger Map showed East Texas with only eleven weather stations reporting low fire risk.
Most of the Texas weather stations showed moderate to high fire danger risk. The most at-risk areas (red, orange, yellow) were central and northeastern Texas. 4 out of 15 major cities were facing extreme wildfire risk, with seven more major cities at high risk…
