Siirila-Woodburn et al. define snowpack conditions based on percentiles of historical snow water equivalent (SWE)1. Specifically, ‘low snow’ is defined as “conditions in which peak SWE falls between the 30th and 10th percentiles”, and ‘effectively no snow’ is defined as “peak SWE conditions within the lowest 10th percentile”.
