Unsere Meere
Die Meere und Ozeane spielen eine Schlüsselrolle im Klimasystem der Erde. Sie speichern im Sommer Sonnenenergie in Form von Wärme und geben diese im Winter wieder an die Atmosphäre ab. Gleichzeitig verteilen die großen oberflächennahen Meeresströmungen Wärme über den Erdball. Diese Wärme nehmen die Ozeane zumeist in den Tropen aus der Atmosphäre auf und transportieren sie anschließend Richtung Norden oder Süden.
