The first edition of Digital Ocean Week, held in Brussels from 8 to 12 June 2026, marked more than a series of high-level events. It brought together a broad European community, from European Commission and Member States representatives to scientists, industry actors and users of marine data, to explore how Europe can build a more integrated and operational Digital Ocean system.
Designed as a connected sequence, the week created a coherent space where political priorities, scientific expertise and technological innovation could intersect. From the Copernicus Marine General Assembly to OceanEye’s high-level discussions and the AI Ocean Forum, each moment contributed to a shared narrative focused on moving from vision to implementation – Building the Digital Ocean System together…
