The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is a public health agency of the European Union (EU), operational since 2005. ECDC’s ambition is to protect over 500 million people from infectious diseases that are mainly caused by parasites and germs (such as viruses, bacteria and fungi). ECDC is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and employs around 300 staff. ECDC collects, analyses and shares data on more than 50 infectious disease topics such as COVID-19, influenza, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, measles, tuberculosis, antimicrobial resistance and vaccination. ECDC experts assess risks to Europe and provide guidance to help countries prevent and respond to outbreaks and public health threats.

Die Deutsche Allianz Klimawandel und Gesundheit (KLUG) e.V. versteht sich als ein Netzwerk von Akteur:innen im Gesundheitswesen, die sich der gesamtgesellschaftlichen Transformation verpflichtet haben und in ihrem lokalen Umfeld, in Gesundheitseinrichtungen und in der Kommune aktiv werden. Aus diesem Netzwerk heraus arbeiten wir zusammen mit medizinischen Fachgesellschaften, Krankenhausgesellschaften, Krankenkassen, Landesgesundheitsämtern und Kommunenspitzen und initiieren die ersten lokalen Hitzeschutzbündnisse mit zentraler Beteiligung der Gesundheitsakteur:innen.
